What is Zazti?
Games kids play with their whole body.
Zazti is 12 games kids play by moving. Jump, duck, flap, freeze: the webcam sees it and the game reacts. It runs in the browser on a laptop, tablet or phone. No console, no controller, nothing to install. It's made for kids 3 and up, and for grown-ups who want in.
▶ Try a gameHow does it work?
The camera image goes to a small program inside your browser. Many times a second, it finds the head, shoulders, wrists, hips, knees and feet. The game reads those points, not the picture. A hand that touches a balloon bops it. Arms going up and down flap the bird's wings. Then the image is thrown away.
All of that happens on your device. Nothing is sent to a server to work out how you moved.
What do you need to play?
A laptop, tablet or phone with a camera, about a meter of space, and a bright room. No app, no account, no special camera.
- A laptop is best: bigger screen, steadier camera. On a phone, lean it against something and step back.
- Stand about a meter back, so the whole body is on screen.
- Want it big? Plug the laptop into the TV.
Is it safe for kids?
No video is ever uploaded. The camera image is read on your device and thrown away. There are no ads, no chat and no strangers, and nobody makes an account.
- The one thing your device holds on to: the liveliest few seconds of a round, in memory, so a grown-up can share them from the results screen. Sharing takes a grown-up's press-and-hold. If nobody shares, the clip is deleted when the next round starts.
- Two players means two kids in front of the same camera. There's no online play.
- Kids pick a made-up nickname and an emoji. No emails, no accounts.
- Contact, sharing and the privacy page wait behind the same press-and-hold.
The privacy policy is in plain English, and you can delete everything saved for your device any time.
Who is it for?
Kids 3 and up. The youngest start with Balloon Keep or Santa Catch. Older kids go for Shape Wall, Forest Run, Soccer Kick. Two can play side by side, so siblings race and parents join in.
In class, it makes a good brain break.
Does it cost anything?
No. It's free to play in the browser, and there are no ads.
